Christmas Traditions

One of the things I like best about the Christmas season is trying to make it or repurpose things from old. Last year I was able to fix and repaint an old peddle tractor that my kids had when they were young and gift it to my grandson. It was a hit for sure. This year Julie found an old baby doll crib and high chair that they had when they were kids. It was missing a few pieces and needed some gluing but otherwise I’m sure it will find much love in its new home with our granddaughter who is in love with her baby dolls.

When I was a kids my folks were in the greenhouse and flower business and one of the things my brothers and I use to have to do was to help my father make Christmas wreaths the he supplied to the Boy Scouts who sold them for a fundraiser. I mean, 1000’s of them. I used that talent I learned then when I owned my own greenhouse and flower business and I now also use that talents to make wreaths that I share as gifts during the holiday season. I guess we never lose the things we grow up with or the possibilities we get to share of oneself during the holiday season. Merry Christmas to one and all!
