We take great care to personally handle every step of life from baby chicks to finished birds.
Each season since 2008 we have raised 500 Cornish Cross meat birds. Chicks arrive on the farm 1-day old and spend their first three weeks warm and protected in the brooder. Then they are moved to “chicken tractors” out in the pasture. Daily we move the “open bottom” tractors so the birds can eat fresh grass and bugs, plus organic grain that is always available. Butchering happens on the farm in the most humane way we know of. We package the birds whole, halved, and in traditional cuts. Broth and soups can be made from the other parts of the bird like necks, feet, and backs. Our birds are certified organic by NOFA-NY, LLC.
